The Agassiz Chamber Music Festival is on again and celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. I am happy to be recording the opening night of the festival again this year as it feels like coming home. I recorded the first festival when I was recording for CBC Radio, which got behind the event when it was in its infancy. I have recorded many of the festivals, both with CBC and JDRS, and they have always been chock full of wonderful music played by some of the Canada’s finest musical talent. This year will be no exception. On opening night, the Penderecki String Quartet will present a world premiere of Randolph Peters‘ Murmurations.
