The Clearwater String Quartet
Winnipeg Arts philanthropist, William Loewen, has received the 2017 Ramon J. Hnatyshyn Governor General’s Award for Volunteerism in the Performing Arts, paying tribute to his outstanding voluntary service to the performing arts. The award ceremony was held at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, June 29.
The National Film Board produced a piece on Mr. Bill Loewen, which served to introduce him at the Governor General’s Award ceremony for which he won the Ramon J. Hnatyshyn Award for Volunteerism in the Performing Arts. https://www.nfb.ca/film/bill_loewen_music_in_the_prairie_night/
The production was an all-Manitoba effort, produced by Jon Montes, written and directed by Mike Maryniuk, with original music by Randolph Peters, performed by the Clearwater Quartet.
JDRS was honoured to play a role in the production, being invited to record Randolph Peters’ music for the short film. Here are a few photos from that session.
