GroundSwell Presents “Pressure Waves”

August 26 at University of Manitoba’s Eva Clare Hall was the site of GroundSwell’s concert of emerging composers, “Pressure Waves”.

The concert came at the end of a few days of Harry Stafylakis workshopping the compositions of Derek Cooper, Jinhee Han, Amy Brandon, Mark Marinic, Tristan Zaba, and Mark Holmes A’ Court, getting them ready for the Pressure Waves concert.

Performing the works of these six new composers were bassoonist, Alex Eastley, cellist, Leanne Zacharias, and pianist, Everett Hopfner.

Here’s an excerpt from one of the compositions presented that night, “Two Musical Scenes – Part 2”
