JDRS Records Esprit de Choeur’s “Silk Threads”
When it comes to choirs and choral music, Winnipeg has an embarrassment of riches. This is a choir town. And for fans of choral music, there is no shortage of quality music-making to be had, especially approaching the Christmas holiday season. This was certainly the case this past Saturday December 8 when Esprit de Choeur, under the direction of Valdine Anderson, presented their program “Silk Threads”
Accompanying Valdine Anderson’s choir were pianist Rachel Dyck, harpist Richard Turner, and a guest men’s chorus. I was pleased to be asked to record the concert for the choir, which was performed in the spacious-sounding, yet cozy, Crescent Fort Rouge United Church.
Here’s a sampling from that evening. Enjoy.
